Try out this KW’s BBQ Sauce homemade Sloppy Joe recipe. It’s quick, easy and taste wonderful!
2 tbsp Butter
2-1/2 lbs Ground Beef
1/2 whole Large Onion, Diced
1 whole Large Green Bell Pepper, Diced
5 cloves Garlic, Minced
1 cup Ketchup
1/2 cup KW’s BBQ Sauce
1 cup Water
2 tbsp Brown Sugar
2 tsp Chili Powder (more To Taste)
1 tsp Dry Mustard
1/2 tsp Red Pepper Flakes (more To Taste)
1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce, or Taste
2 tbsp Tomato Paste
Tabasco Sauce (to Taste)
Salt To Taste
Freshly Ground Black Pepper, To Taste
Add butter to a large skillet over medium high heat. Add ground beef and cook until brown. Drain the fat and discard.
Add onions, green pepper, and garlic. Cook until vegetables begin to get soft.
Add ketchup, brown sugar, chili pepper, dry mustard, tomato paste, Worcestershire, Tabasco, water and simmer for 15 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
Spread hamburger buns with butter and toast on griddle or in a oven until brown. Spoon meat into hamburger bun and top with a slice of cheese (optional). Serve hot with kettle cooked chips or French fries.
